I think the sexual scripts still exists because the gender stereotypes are still there in our society and thus they are holding the sexual scripts back. Still, in our society there are certain roles designated for both male and female. Due to the fact that we grow up seeing these stereotypes, we consider these as very normal and anything except the specified roles seems abnormal to us. When a man and a woman enter into a romantic relationship they expect the kind of same things from each other as people used to do before. As they have seen growing up that men are supposed to do certain things such as paying the bills and opening the gate for the woman and women are supposed to maintain themselves and look beautiful.
